The uniquely crafted bedroom units maximize the use of local materials in order to blend in with the surroundings. The lodge offers morning and afternoon game drives, a swimming pool with a panoramic view of the plains below and for an extra change guests can enjoy a balloon safari.

Three overnights at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge in a thatched hut with a balcony and en-suite bathroom. Accommodation is on a full board basis including three half-day game-drives in 4x4 safari vehicles. An optional extra, at an additional cost, is a ballooning safari over the Serengeti plains.

Days 6 & 7: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Manyara Airstrip where you are met by a representative from Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge for your transfer, 2 hours and 30 minutes, to the lodge.

Ngorongoro Serena Safari Hotel:
Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built into the rim of a dormant and collapsed volcano (known as a caldera). Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact caldera, with over 20 000 animals making this their permanent home. The lodge, with its plant and ivy covered native stonewalls, blends quietly into the surroundings.

There are 75 guest rooms all with en-suite showers and most have a private terrace. Due to the prevailing cool climate in the region, the lounge and dining room are set indoors, with large picture glass windows providing excellent views of the crater.

All the main areas are complimented by log fires, which enhance the atmosphere. The hotels unique design continues into the restaurant and bar, with magnificent examples of prehistoric cave paintings etched into the walls. The full service lounge has an outdoor balcony with a fixed telescope for guests' enjoyment. Activities available from the lodge include full day trips into the caldera, visits to a local Masai village or perhaps a visit to the famous Olduvai Gorge, the 'birthplace of man', all at an additional cost.

Day 8: Arusha

Enjoy an early morning breakfast. Transfer by road to Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha Airport. Upon arrival, at 12:20, services end.
