Enjoy an early morning activity and breakfast before your scheduled flight to Dar es Salaam. On arrival a representative from Ras Kutani will meet you for your transfer of approximately one hour to the lodge.
Ras Kutani Beach Lodge: Ras Kutani lies on an undeveloped Indian Ocean beach; a 4-kilometre crescent of white sand and gentle surf, cooled by trade winds, surrounded by a tropical forest replete with colobus monkeys, set adjacent to a fresh water lagoon. Ras Kutani is the perfect hideaway far from the madding crowds in which to relax after an exciting safari or to just unwind for a week or two. For those who prefer a more active stay there are facilities for sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling and fishing. Guests can take advantage of the empty beaches with long walks or explore the forests in search of the 4 different species of monkey. Accommodation is in spacious cottages constructed from local materials. Each cottage is en-suite with its own large verandah and all have great ocean views. Exotic menus are based on the abundantly available fish and crustaceans which is complemented by a well stocked bar. The hotel is accessed from Dar es Salaam either by road or by air (there is a private airstrip 2 minutes away). Three overnights at Ras Kutani in a thatched cottage constructed of local materials with en-suite facilities. Accommodation is on a full board basis. Activities, at an additional cost include sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling, fishing and deep-sea fishing can be booked directly at the lodge.

Lush tropical undergrowth, palm trees and colourful bourganvillia engulf Ras Kutani. The 9 cottages are constructed from natural materials, which blend so well into the environment that you hardly know it is there.
Climate of the Selous
The birdlife comes into its own during the rainy months of January to April, but many roads become impassable. As a result, most lodges close their doors from mid-March to May. It also gets hot, humid and rainy during December, January and February.
