Shompole Lodge is the figurehead of a partnership between a private safari company and the Maasai of Shompole Group Ranch. This partnership is aimed at encouraging the conservation of wildlife and the habitat of the area. The environments at this Kenya lodge range from rainforests, through Acacia woodland, grass plains, riverine forest, salt plains and soda lakes. There is also an abundance of plains game and night animals that can be frequently seen, they include Aardwolf, Civet, Serval, Leopard and Striped Hyena. Elephant, Lion and Cheetah may be found in the swamp and grassy plains, while the birdlife is varied and plentiful.
